Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are over the early-morning marijuana stench in their New York City neighborhood. During this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the married couple delivered a PSA to those stinking up their Upper East Side block first thing in the morning.
The conversation was sparked while the duo was speaking of the “smells of New York” when it starts to get hot in the city, before reflecting on their time living in SoHo when Ripa was pregnant with their three children.
“When you’re early pregnancy, you could develop aversions to smells,” she told the audience, to which Consuelos said, “You had an aversion to me.”
Ripa continued, “The smell of Mark used to make me very sick. And I love the way he smells. The smell of Mark is one of my favorite things — unless I’m pregnant and then I’m like, ‘Please get away from me.’”
Apparently, the only thing worse was the smell of their former neighborhood.
Ripa went on to reveal that she would gag the moment she stepped outside in downtown Manhattan, where Consuelos joked that you get a “nice stew of whatever happened the night before.”

Having paid their dues in smelly Soho, the Riverdale star described where they live now — the Upper East Side — as “so much more civilized.” Although, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s completely free of its own smells, either.
“It just smells like marijuana. Everyone is smoking pot everywhere,” Ripa said, before Consuelos added, “It’s 8 o’clock in the morning, what are you doing? I’m like, ‘You’re building that skyscraper.’”
Ripa then stared into the camera, asking her fellow neighbors, “Guys, guys. Why are you high already? And I’m not an ageist, but you’re my mom’s age. Can you get baked later on?”
While it sounds like she’s not much of a stoner these days, at least we’ll always have Ripa’s iconic Broad City cameo.
