Kanye West addressed the backlash he constantly gets for social media rants, deeming it a cleansing ritual.
While speaking to Tucker Carlson on how he prevents his personal and professional issues from aging him, he compared his Instagram rants to a colonic, which is a procedure done to remove accumulated feces from the body.
“When I have techniques that are revolutionary, if I raise my voice on Instagram, it’s a colonic and people can say ‘Oh this what you’re doing is toxic,’” he said during the second part of his interview with the Fox anchor, which aired on Friday night.
“I gotta do everything to get it out of my body and there will be times that I see a level of oppression and I’ll be like ‘I’m not going to let you guys kill me.’”
He also added that, oftentimes, he needs to act out in order to be heard by those who are allegedly oppressing him, especially the Kardashian-Jenner family.
“I have to act like a complete ass to have any sayso on what my children do because of all the people who have control of all the children in the clan,” he explained.
The rapper, 45, has been feuding with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian on how to raise their four children — North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 — since they went their separate ways in February 2021 and makes sure everyone knows by posting it on social media.
Mainly, he has had an issue with how often he gets to see his kids — which is only 20 percent of the time, while Kardashian takes care of them the other 80 — and what school they go to.
Ye has been pushing for their kids to split their time between the school she had chosen and his Donda Academy.
However, in the interview with Carlson, he admitted that Kardashian lets the kids come over for choir after they’re done with their classes at Sierra Canyon in California.
West’s more recent Instagram rant has been around the backlash he’s received after he rocked a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at his surprise Paris Fashion Week show.
Despite many celebrities getting together to explain why his T-shirt was problematic, sources close to the rapper told Page Six that he is baffled by the negative response.
“He thinks it’s a PC thing,” said an insider, “He wants to give a voice to the ‘other side’ [of the race debate in America].”
“He doesn’t understand why people aren’t seeing that,” they added.
