Kamala's Surrogates Have No Idea What to Say

Ed wrote a piece about Ian Sams’ six-minute filibuster on CNN, refusing to answer the simplest of questions: are Americans better off today than when Kamala Harris took on the role of Vice President? Duane also has an excellent article along the same lines, so this one makes three.

But Sams is one of many Harris surrogates who can’t answer basic questions. In fact, nobody out there is willing to or even can answer any questions about Kamala Harris’ policies or values. Ed called it “word saladitis,” I’ll just call it evasion or hiding the ball.

There are lots of voters out there who really want to like Kamala Harris, largely because they dislike Donald Trump for one reason or another. He gets under their skin in a visceral way (I think visceral means under the skin, come to think about it…), so they are taking a hard look at Kamala to see if they can live with her.

I watched Mark Halperin’s 2 Way show yesterday and it was striking: two swing voters who leaned Democrat expressed frustration with Harris’ vagueness and were likely not to vote for her.

So it’s imperative that Harris or her campaign say SOMETHING other than promise that unicorn farts will save America, but the problem is that that’s all she’s got.

They’ve got nothing, and this is why Kamala’s honeymoon period is over. Duane is right: Trump is on offense because he has something to say, as does J.D. Vance (who was an excellent choice and a perfect surrogate for Trump.)

Harris got an amazing start to her campaign, largely because the mainstream media, Hollywood, and everybody in the Establishment screamed JOY! at the mention of her name. All Kamala had to do to seal the deal was stand for something other than Joe Biden’s agenda.

But she is a vapid meat puppet for the Establishment, and swing voters want anything but that. She would be down 5 points in the polls but for the fact that too many voters are scared (wrongly) about Donald Trump. They buy the media spin on Trump, but are unconvinced by the spin on Kamala.

Mark Cuban has been out there hinting that Kamala secretly isn’t a socialist bent on destroying America, despite the obvious fact that Kamala Harris is a socialist bent on destroying the American economy.

The media–at least some of it–is pushing Harris to stay mum about everything, perfectly happy that she is answering no questions because her answers always suck. It’s a remarkable position for journalists, but we really don’t have many journalists left worthy of the name. They are another wing of the Democratic Party.

The problem is that it isn’t only Harris who is incapable of making the case for her to become president. Nobody in her orbit can because she is a radical leftist trying to present herself as a moderate who will fix the border, make the economy grow, and fight crime. She is running as Nikki Haley when she is closer to Karl Marx.

One of the reasons that I believe Trump will win this race–there are many–is that neither Kamala Harris nor her surrogates has anything to say. They babble incoherently, hoping that vapid word salads will satisfy people. As long as the media performs its role as a proxy for her campaign and Oprah and her pals campaign for her, she expects that she will beat Bad Orange Man.

I think Americans are too worried about the future to buy a pig in a poke. When the swing voters finally swing, Trump is in a much better position to capture their votes.
