Kamala Harris is losing Muslim vote to Green party candidate Jill Stein: poll

Green party candidate Jill Stein is leading Vice President Harris among American Muslims just days before the 2024 presidential election, according to a new poll.

The survey from the Council on American-Islamic Relations found that Stein took the support of 42.3% of Muslim voters to Harris’ 41%.

Former president Trump — who once promised to ban Muslims from entering the United States — was a distant third with 9.8% support.

CAIR estimates there are 2.5 million Muslim voters in the U.S.

If the poll is accurate, it could severely complicate Vice President Harris’ path to the White House.

The critical swing state of Michigan is home to more than 240,000 Muslims.

Many of their leaders, like Rep. Rashida Tlaib, have refused to back Harris’ campaign.

“These findings are definitely concerning for Harris, given how close the race is in this state. If Harris is able to have an advantage in this state similar to Biden’s margin in 2020 (150k votes), she can still hold on, but if she underperforms with black voters, as the polling suggests, losing these voters could be decisive,” pollster Carly Cooperman told The Post.

The poll showed an additional 5.6% of Muslims said they planned to stay home.

Chase Oliver of the Libertarian party and Cornel West of the Justice for All party each received less than 1% support.

The survey of 1,449 verified Muslim voters from around the United States was conducted Oct. 30 – Oct. 31.

“This final national poll of American Muslim voters confirms that our community members are deeply engaged in the 2024 election, with 95 percent saying they plan to turn out to vote,” CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said in a statement.

Stein has focused much of her race on opposition to Israel’s war in Gaza and support for Hamas, a message which has clearly resonated.

About 57% of American Muslims said they believed Hamas “was justified in attacking Israel as part of their struggle for a Palestinian state,” according to a survey from Cygnal taken shortly after the Oct. 7 massacre.

Awad — a longtime antisemite who once declared that Hamas’ attack made him “happy” — said the Israel-Gaza conflict “continues to play a major role in influencing Muslim voter preferences.”

CAIR was once named as an unindicted co-conspirator in illegal fundraising for Hamas terrorists.
