Joy Behar Says She Kept A Diary During Rosie O’Donnell’s Time On ‘The View’: “Andy Cohen Is On His Knees Begging Me To Do A Book”

Joy Behar is stirring the pot with Rosie O’Donnell. On Wednesday’s (Oct. 25) episode of The View‘s Behind the Table podcast, the comedian revealed that she kept handwritten notes about her former co-host’s brief yet controversial stint on The View.

During the episode, Behar admitted to keeping a “diary” from that “one year” O’Donnell was on the show while chatting with executive producer Brian Teta, who said “people would go crazy” if she released her journal as a tell-all book.

“I know they would, but I don’t like to do that. I don’t talk about The View much,” Behar said. “Andy Cohen is on his knees begging me to do a book.”

O’Donnell was a moderator on The View from 2006 to 2007, during which she had her infamous on-air blowout with Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The A League of Their Own star returned briefly in Season 18 before deciding to leave once and for all.

In April of this year, O’Donnell opened up on an episode of Brooke Shields‘ Now What? podcast about her tenure on the hit daytime talk show.

“I know this — it’s not the best use of my talent to get in a show where I have to argue and defend basic principles of humanity and kindness,” she said, per the New York Post. “It was not something I’d ever do again.”

While reflecting on her clash with Hasselbeck, she took aim at the former Republican co-host’s close relationship with producer and co-creator Bill Geddie, who died earlier this year at the age of 68.

“Elisabeth Hasselbeck was on there and Bill Geddie was the producer of an all-women’s talk show with supposedly a woman’s voice was a man, an old, cis, white man, Republican who was against everything that I believed in and stood for, and he loved Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and would go into her little dressing room and give her notes and talking points of the Republican press that they would release daily,” O’Donnell claimed. “She had the talking points.”

If Behar ever does decide to release that book, John Stamos and Britney Spears might have some competition!

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
