Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner will attend mediation to work through messy custody, divorce battle

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner will attend mediation in an effort to work through their messy divorce and subsequent custody battle.

According to The Post, attorneys for the estranged couple appeared in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday for a pretrial conference, during which they informed the judge that they will be mediation for four days beginning this Wednesday.

The lawyers said they hope to resolve many issues in the pair’s split, including establishing a parenting plan for their two daughters: Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1.

Turner, 27, is suing Jonas, 34, for the return of their children to their “forever home” in England, which the musician gushed over as recently as June.

However, her attorney, Stephen Cullen, claimed during the hearing that Jonas wants “50-50” joint custody.

Cullen went on to assure the judge that “the parties are both seeing their children in a very unfettered way” despite their bitter breakup.

The judge then set the duo’s trail for Jan. 2, which was a win for the Jonas Brothers frontman.

His attorney, Richard Min, had asked for a date next year after the conclusion of his client’s tour on Dec. 9.

But Cullen was eager for a sooner trial date given that the actress “has work commitments in the UK in January.”

In Turner’s lawsuit, which she filed late last month, she claimed that she and Jonas had already agreed to move their family across the pond when he decided to file for divorce on Sept. 5.

The “Game of Thrones” star also said that Jonas was withholding the kids’ passports to prevent them from leaving the US, which he confirmed.

However, he denied her allegation that he had abducted their daughters.

Last week, the two agreed to keep Willa and Delphine in New York while they hash out the logistics, as each of them signed an interim consent order that prohibits them from removing the girls from the state.

As Page Six exclusively reported, Turner and the kids have been staying at one of her pal Taylor Swift’s Big Apple apartments in the interim.
