Jewish hospital cafe owner filmed giving Nazi salute, spewing antisemitic remarks

A woman filmed giving the Nazi salute and spewing antisemitic threats about the “final solution” in Canada has been identified as the owner of two kosher cafes at a Jewish hospital.

Mai Abdulhadi was identified as horrified java chain Second Cup Café cut ties and immediately shuttered her two locations inside the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Global News reported.

Her staffers had identified her as the woman who went viral hurling the hateful remarks and gestures as she taunted counter-protesters at the rally last Thursday.

The footage shows a woman initially shielding her identity with a keffiyeh scarf, surgical mask and sunglasses while chanting: “The final solution is coming your way.”

“The Final Solution. Do you know what the Final Solution is? Do you know what the Final Solution is?” she could be heard warning, referring to Adolf Hitler’s plan to exterminate all Jews.

In another clip, the woman was caught on camera with her face now exposed as she marched towards pro-Israel demonstrators while giving the Nazi salute.

Abdulhadi was quickly identified after the videos of the sick ordeal exploded on social media, according to Second Cup Canada’s president, Peter Mammas.

“We spoke to a lot of employees and they confirmed to us that, yes, it was her in the videos,” Mammas said.

“Second Cup has zero tolerance for hate speech. In coordination with the hospital, we’ve shut down the franchisee’s café and are terminating their franchise agreement,” said the company, which is certified kosher by the Jewish Community Council of Montreal.

“This franchisee’s actions are not only a breach of our franchise agreement, but they also violate the values of inclusion and community we stand for at Second Cup.”

The region’s healthcare provider, Integrated University Health and Social Service Centres, said it backed the company’s decision.

“This video is related to a franchisee of Second Cup, one of the private tenants operating within the Jewish General Hospital,” a statement said.

“We fully support Second Cup’s decision to take swift and decisive action in this matter by shutting down the franchisee’s cafes and terminating their lease agreement.”
