Jetstar passengers slept on the floor of Proserpine Airport in the Whitsundays last night after the aircraft experienced an engineering issue.
The spokesperson said the airline “worked hard” to find accommodation for passengers but said it was difficult to find available rooms due to the school holidays.
“We put on a special flight last night to try to fly passengers who couldn’t find accommodation to Brisbane, however this flight was unable to land in Proserpine due to fog,” they said.
“We will always prioritise safety and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we work really hard to get them on their way today.”
Passengers slammed the airline today, telling 9News they were given little information on what was happening.
