Jetstar passengers are reportedly unable to check into their flights as the airline suffers a nationwide outage.

The budget airline confirmed it had encountered ‘technical difficulties’ just before 2pm on Saturday.

‘We are experiencing some technical difficulties with our system at the moment,’ a spokesperson for the airline wrote on X.

‘Our team is working hard to get this fixed as soon as possible so we appreciate your patience in the meantime.’

The disruptions are understood to be impacting check-in kiosks at airports around Australia as well as in Indonesia and Japan.

Angry passengers took to X to vent about the outage.

‘At this rate we ain’t going anywhere. Been at the check in kiosk for 2 hours,’ one wrote.

‘Sydney exactly the same – 2 hours now – no comms,’ another posted.

An IT issue with Jetstar’s check-in and boarding systems is impacting some flights.

Jetstar’s IT teams is working to fix the issue and is using a backup system in the meantime.

There is no impact to online check-in and the airline recommends customers check in online if they can or allow extra time at the airport.

‘We appreciate customers patience and understanding and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience cause,’ a Jetstar spokesperson said.
