Observations from Jets training camp on Tuesday.
That’s better
WR Denzel Mims turned in a good day, including a roughly 60-yard touchdown catch on a crossing route from Mike White. That comes just a day after offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur noted that Mims was making “great strides” after catching just eight passes last season.
Butterfingers
Ty Johnson had a bad drop on a checkdown throw from Wilson midway through practice, with the ball going off his hands. After a season in which he caught just 34 of 55 targets, Johnson needs to prove he can be trusted in passing situations.
Caught My Eye
Elijah Moore came up with an impressive grab down the sideline on a Joe Flacco throw that was behind the receiver, turning and corralling the ball with one hand.

Medical report
RB Michael Carter is dealing with a minor ankle injury and did not participate in 11-on-11 drills. Head coach Robert Saleh described him as day-to-day. LB Vinny Curry (hamstring) should be back by the end of the week. LT George Fant took reps in team drills for the first time.
