Ken Jennings Says Mayim Bialik Will Be Hosting ‘Jeopardy!’ ‘For A Few Months’

On Monday, “Jeopardy!” producer Sarah Foss shared the hosting schedule for the spring and summer months on the “Inside Jeopardy!” podcast.

Unfortunately, many fans are not too happy about the decisions they decided to make. Although “Jeopardy!” Tournament of Champions winner Ken Jennings will be hosting the show until the end of April, “The Big Bang Theory” alum Mayim Bialik will take over on May 1 and host “through the summer.”

On Monday’s episode of the “Inside Jeopardy!” podcast, producer Sarah Foss revealed that Ken Jennings will resume hosting on March 10 after the High School Reunion Tournament ends and will continue to April 28. At that point, Mayim Bialik will take over starting May 1 and continue hosting until the end of summer.

“Ken Jennings will be back on March 10, and then he will continue the rest of his syndicated run, which will take us through April 28,” Foss said during the podcast. “Then Mayim will take over on May 1, and she’ll take us all the way through the summer.”

At this point, it looks like Ken will not resume his hosting duties until September at the earliest. Fortunately, Ken has also been tapped to host the new prime-time series “Jeopardy! Masters,” which features six top “Jeopardy!” champions competing once again over ten episodes.

Fans Have Mixed Feelings Over The New Hosting Schedule

One Twitter account called “Is Ken Jennings Hosting Jeopardy! This Week?” announced the news on Twitter.

The account tweeted: “As revealed on the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, Ken Jennings will return to host on Fri., 3/10 and continue through 4/28. He’s not expected to host additional episodes for syndication until the season ends, though he will host Jeopardy! Masters in primetime for ABC (airdates TBA).”

Unfortunately, not everyone was looking forward to watching the “Blossom” child star taking over hosting duties yet again.

One “Jeopardy!” fan commented, “I hate to say it, but I don’t enjoy the show as much when she hosts. Her tone comes across as condescending, and the pauses before she tells people if they’re correct or not is so distracting.”

Another follower seemed to agree that Ken was the best choice for the job. “Ken is awesome, engaging, an all-around natural at hosting! If you absolutely have to have two hosts, please consider anyone, but Mayim,” they commented. “She is robotic and anything but natural at hosting. She is clearly uncomfortable in that role. She may be a good actress, but an awful host!”

It Looks Like Fans Really Prefer Ken Jennings To Host ‘Jeopardy!’

“The reason why we all watch Jeopardy is because of Ken Jennings and his interaction with the panel and the audience. He explains the answers and we learn something every episode,” another fan agreed. “Not like Mayim just saying NO or YES. You will [loose] your audience until September.”

“I want Ken full time…I don’t understand why they have the switch-a-roo thing that has no relevance because people miss half a season of Jeopardy! anyways,” another user added. “So why can’t Ken be like the whole regular season, so we don’t miss half a season of Jeopardy! each year. Sense or not…”

At least fans of Ken Jennings can look forward to him hosting again for a few more weeks before Mayim picks up hosting duties until the fall. In the meantime, fans are anxiously awaiting the premiere date for the “Jeopardy! Masters” tournament.
