The two-time Archibald finalist captioned it with a quote from French philosopher Albert Camus: ‘A man who has become conscious of the absurd is forever bound to it.’

The oil on linen portrait is titled ‘A Lucid Heart – The Golden Age of Jacob Elordi’ and is on display at the Art Gallery of NSW.

‘The theme and title of the painting springs from “The Myth of Sisyphus” by Albert Camus, which Jacob was reading at the time of our sitting,’ Zilinsky told Daily Mail Australia.

‘My only interest was to see the man that sat before me and he in turn see himself in the work. Sometimes reality must be transcended to do that.’

The modernist painter has drawn many abstract portraits of famous people throughout her career, including Donald Trump and North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Elordi began his career in 2018 by appearing in the Aussie movies Swinging Safari and The Very Excellent Mr Dundee.

He relocated to Los Angeles several years later after being cast in the popular US teen drama Euphoria.
