It’s like these Mets can do no wrong as Party Citi vibes grow

In one of the greatest defensive half-innings you’ll ever see, Mets center fielder Tyrone Taylor’s all-out sprint, headfirst dive and backhanded sliding grab onto the warning track of a Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drive was sandwiched by two more Francisco Lindor sparklers.

With the Mets already holding a seven-run lead in that fantastic fourth inning, celebratory chants of “Let’s go, Mets!” rang out.

It’s a great time to be a fan of the orange and blue, who improved to a Major League best 21-9 with an 8-3 victory over the Diamondbacks that was one of the more glorious games the Mets played this year.

Folks were citing the soft early schedule — the Mets played a sport-high 20 games against teams with losing records heading into Tuesday night’s game. But it turns out they looked their best against the best they’ve seen, a stacked D’backs squad.
