- Sydney couple want a live in nanny for their dog
- Duties include walks and twice daily brushes
- Perks include luxurious accommodation and flexible hours
A wealthy Sydney family has been inundated with job applications after advertising for a nanny to look after their pedigree dog at their mansions.
Events manager Yasmin Morris wants a ‘trustworthy, dog-loving au pair’ to take care of their Maremma sheepdog – which spends most of its time asleep – while she is at work.
The live-in position would involve caring for the dog named Polare at the family pad with ocean views on Sydney’s northern beaches, or at their Hunter Valley weekender set among gorgeous wineries.
‘Your duties will include walking our dog four to five days a week, feeding her dinner, and brushing her twice a day,’ Ms Morris wrote on a popular nanny Facebook page.
‘Polare is very low maintenance and usually sleeps but we would like someone to take her for a walk in the morning when we are at work.’
The comment section was flooded with hundreds of eager applicants within minutes, with most dubbing it their dream role.
‘Despite my husband and kids, I am tempted to apply for this,’ admitted a mum.
‘She is such a darling, I want to be her nanny so bad,’ said one, while another added: ‘Wish I was Polare.’

The advert in a Facebook group gained plenty of attention
Further details enticed that the hours were flexible and added: ‘You have your own private room and bathroom downstairs, with 25 hours of work per week.’
And for anyone worried they may get bored of long beach walks and watching Polare nap for the rest of the day, the position also offers regular travel if you want it.
‘We often travel to our property in the Hunter Valley twice a week, and during that time you might need to care for Polare if she doesn’t come with us,’ she said.
‘You’re also welcome to come to our Hunter Valley property if you’d like to join us there.’
Accompanying Ms Morris’s tempting description of seemingly minimal daily duties were a handful of stunning photos of Polare and the family’s luxury properties.
However some of the details sparked suspicions the job ad was a scam.
‘Too good to be true. It’s a scam. Photos are on a hotels website,’ warned one person.
Ms Morris defused the row by confirming their million-dollar Bilgola beachhouse and Krinklewood Organic Estate cottage are both listed for events, photoshoots and holidays.
But it’s not all jaunts to the winery and lounging by either of the two stunning pools.
Ms Morris also added that Polare’s new nanny would also be expected to help out with light household tasks ‘such as laundry and putting the dishes away’.
She added: ‘If you enjoy cooking, that’s a MASSIVE plus.’
Polare even has her own instagram account – where her bio reveals she ‘enjoys couches and beaches’.

Some people joked they would leave their husband and kids to be Polare’s nanny
In a recent update, she revealed her new nanny was about to start imminently – but it was only a short-term appointment with a replacement required again in March.
‘Thank you to everyone who sent messages about looking after me,’ she posted online. ‘It’s been a big couple of days. I’ve chosen and she’ll be here in two weeks.
‘I hear there will be lots of extra walks, chicken and a few Dutch lessons coming my way!
‘After she leaves in March, mum says I get another new friend. I’ve decided I must be really really cute. #nannydiaries’
