A mother has issued a warning parents after she noticed a surprising quirk on her teenage daughter’s hoodie.

An unnamed British mother who goes by @resolutera on TikTok recently posted a clip to her account detailing her horror to her 37,000 followers – but people think she’s overreacting.

She started the nine-second video pointing at a grey camo print hoodie which her caption explained she had bought an entire 11 months ago.

The mother said: ‘PSA for the Christmas shopping parents, I bought this for my daughter last year, I thought these were fairies’.

Pointing to the silver zippers, the mortified mother explained that she’d got it totally wrong, saying: ‘Uh, uh, [they’re] strippers. And on deeper inspection, the whole pattern is strippers!’

One commenter reassured her that design wasn’t clear at first glance, saying: ‘To be fair, looks like camo’, and another reminded her of popular Italian sportswear brand Kappa and its similar designs.

Another chimed in to say everyone has been there in their younger days.

‘Like when we were teens walking around with Playboy clothes not knowing what it stood for,’ the wrote.

And another admitted she was slow to notice the provocative detailing, saying: ‘Damn so did I! My daughter has been walking around in it for a year’.

However, although some users admitted it took them time to notice the pattern, many didn’t take issue with the clothing and insisted the silhouette of a woman’s body wasn’t shameful.

One user asked the TikToker: ‘Why do you assume they are dancers? What’s wrong with being a dancer? It’s just silhouettes of women’.

However, the parent hit back and clarified that she herself had dabbled in pole fitness – but that she didn’t feel it was appropriate for her daughter aged 11.

Another user added: ‘I don’t see them as strippers, just women celebrating their bodies. And even if they were, it’s a legit job’.

And one user explained: ‘It’s not meant to be sexual, it’s just the print. Named Collective is the brand, not all their hoodies have this design’.

A different user said: ‘It’s literally just a silhouette of a woman, it’s not that deep’.

A pole dancer in the comments expressed her adoration for the item of clothing, saying: ‘I want this, I need this’.

The content creator replied recommending the purchase, saying: ‘I used to do pole fitness [and] had the best time! You should definitely get one’.

The hoodie is listed on the Named Collective’s website as the Unrealistic Ideals hoodie in snow camo, retailing for £80.
