Isla Fisher is trapped in Queensland and facing a catastrophic storm.

The Australian actress made a series of Instagram Stories posts on Wednesday revealing she was bracing for Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which is tracking west towards Australia’s east coast.

The 49-year-old, who is believed to be staying on the state’s Gold Coast, shared an ominous photo of storm clouds over a raging sea and wrote in her caption, ‘Cyclone Alfred is coming’.

The Confessions of a Shopaholic star also gave her fans a glimpse at her trip to the local supermarket.

The shelves had been stripped bare by panic buying shoppers desperate to stock up on supplies ahead of what is expected to be at least three days of chaos and power outages in the region.

A final post showed a gloomy selfie of the star which she captioned, ‘hunkered down waiting for the cyclone’.

The category two system is headed towards southeast Queensland’s coast and is expected to make landfall either late Thursday or early Friday morning, most likely between the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast.

A warning zone stretching 650km has been issued from Double Island Point in Queensland to Grafton in northern NSW.

The zone includes Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay and Ballina, but doesn’t include Grafton.

‘People between Double Island Point and Grafton should immediately commence or continue preparations, especially securing boats and property,’ the Bureau said.

Gold Coast Acting Mayor Donna Gates says modelling now predicts the cyclone’s stormfront could reach almost 150km inland, stretching as far west as Toowoomba, and called it the ‘most significant’ event in 70 years.

Isla has been spending time on the Gold Coast amid her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen.

Earlier this month, Isla and comedian Sacha, 53, shared a friendly exchange on social media amid reports their divorce is getting ‘messy’.

Isla and Sacha, revealed in a joint statement in April 2024 that they had ‘quietly separated’ the year before, telling fans: ‘After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down’.

The exes recently engaged with one another on the Australian star’s latest Instagram post, which shows her in a sultry photoshoot for Style Magazine.

‘Stunning photoshoot,’ the British actor complimented his former wife in the comments below the post, which he also ‘liked’.

Isla replied some hours later, tagging her ex-partner and writing, ‘Thank you,’ alongside a blushing emoji.

The friendly interaction occurred amid reports her amicable divorce from comedian Sacha is set to turn sour as they divide their £60million (AUD$119million) fortune.

Sources close to the actor said ‘it’s war’ and ‘any remaining veneer of civility has gone’ after Isla opened up about how she was handling their separation.

During a press run for the latest Bridget Jones movie, Isla confessed to The Sunday Times she leaned on her female friends for support during the separation.

Breaking ranks on their agreement not to discuss their private lives, Isla said: ‘The women in my life have held me.

‘The female relationships I cultivated in our business, those women have been there for me. I’m actually going to get emotional. I’m sitting here today because of them.

‘I’ve learnt so much about the power of female friendship and I’ve just learnt that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are.’

Isla and Sacha revealed in a joint statement in April 2024 they had ‘quietly separated’ the year before.

‘After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down,’ they told fans.

Discussing the split with The Sunday Times, Isla said: ‘It’s the most difficult thing that I’ve been through and I’ve learnt so much about myself in the process.

‘I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents.’
