An Australian commuter has caused a stir after he was spotted with a handwritten note on his hand reminding himself to ‘send a breakup email’ that day.

The anonymous man was spied on a Sydney train by radio host Emma Chow who raised the ‘gutless’ act on her show with co-host Mike E on The Edge
On the air Emma said she was on the train when she noticed a reminder scrawled on the hand of man sitting in front of her who kept scratching his neck.
‘I had to take a video of this because I couldn’t quite believe this guy had written this note on his hand,’ she said.
‘Firstly how embarrassing. Secondly unbeknownst to her, this poor girl is going to get broken up with and it’s just going to land in her Gmail and be like ‘I don’t want to be together anymore’.’

Emma also shared a video of the unusual moment to TikTok which immediately divided viewers – some slammed the ’embarrassing’ reminder while others backed his plan or defended it as a simple ‘work-related plan’

Mike defended the man saying an email is longer than a message so he could list the reasons he no longer wants to be with the mystery woman but Emma was having none of it
Mike defended the man saying an email is longer than a message so he could list the reasons he no longer wants to be with the mystery woman but Emma was having none of it.
‘Say it to her face or say it on the phone at the very least. That is gutless, you cannot send an email to someone to break up with them,’ she said.
Emma’s video racked up more than 75,600 views online with many in the comments offering their theories about the man’s relationship situation.
‘The standard Thursday reminder for every male uni student who picked up the weekend before,’ joked one viewer.
‘Imagine the sign off… Live, laugh, I don’t love you,’ laughed another.
‘Needed to write it on his hand or his peanut brain would forget. Girl is better off mate,’ quipped a third.
However others weren’t so quick to assume and pointed out the reminder could mean something completely different.
‘It’s a sales term. He’s writing it to a prospect,’ one person claimed.
‘Could be organising a work break up,’ a second thought.
‘Poor guy just works in inbound sales and is going to get dragged to hell and back,’ said a third.
