Emergency crews were called to a home on Ballater Avenue at Seaton in the city’s west just before 4pm this afternoon.

A specialist children’s ambulance team treated the girl on the way to hospital but could not save her.

The ambulance service said a child had initially reported the incident.

They said they found the five-year-old in cardiac arrest on arrival.

As the girl was rushed to hospital, police detectives arrived and officers were seen leading a man away from the home.
