Police are investigating after an infant died at a family daycare facility in Melbourne’s south-east this afternoon.

Paramedics rushed to the facility in Skye about 2.05pm.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the child’s death, but it is not being treated as suspicious.

The facility, in a home on a suburban street, was cordoned off by police.

At least six police cars were seen outside.

Police officers and staff from Work Safe Victoria were seen at the property.

The privately owned family daycare is currently listed as “exceeding” national standards.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
