One of Australia’s biggest banks has been hit by an outage just weeks after its latest one.

ING Australia announced on social media platform X on Wednesday that customers had reported difficulty accessing the banking app and website.

‘We are aware that some customers are currently experiencing issues accessing the ING app and website,’ the post read.

‘Our teams are investigating this issue and we will provide further updates shortly.’

‘We are extremely sorry to any customers who have been impacted.’

ING Australia have posted an updated statement on social media, ‘Services are returning to normal.’

 ‘Most customers should now be able to access the ING app and online banking and make payments and transfers.’

‘As we complete the restoration, some overseas customers may be experiencing some issues accessing the app and website and we will provide updates on this shortly.’

‘We sincerely apologise to any customers who have been impacted.’

The DownDetector website received over 1,000 notifications since 7.30am on Wednesday.

Angry customers took to social media to complain about not being able to access the website and app.

‘How long can we expect to wait? I can’t start my day because I can’t login to transfer money,’ one customer wrote.

‘Looks like I’m not buying anything this morning. Come on guys not good enough,’ another wrote.

The latest incident comes just four weeks after customers were hit with another outage.

ING Australia customers first reported being unable to access the website or banking app about 9am on Wednesday, October 30.

At its peak, over 2,300 customers reported issues accessing ING Australia banking services. 

Following last month’s outage ING Australia said, ‘We’re aware scammers are calling customers or posting on social media claiming they can help to restore access.’ 

‘ING will never call you about online banking services and all updates about this issue are being shared from our official social media pages and on our website.’
