Emergency services received a call over a single-vehicle crash about 7.30pm yesterday on Larapinta Drive, about four kilometres away from Hermannsburg, in the MacDonnell region.

The car carried five adults and an infant child, who all received minor injuries.

The passengers were taken to a local clinic but had to be medevacked to Alice Springs for further medical attention.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that the vehicle was travelling west when it left the road surface and rolled for reasons yet to be determined,” police said in a statement.

“None of the passengers, including the infant, were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.”

The suspected male driver had to undertake a breath test which allegedly returned a “high-range” result.

Larapinta Drive is temporarily closed as investigations remain ongoing.
