Indiana parents arrested for horrific alleged abuse of son, 10, and forcing his siblings to beat him

An Indiana couple allegedly zip-tied their 10-year-old son as a form of horrific punishment, and forced him to stand against a wall for hours — with a towel covering his head so he couldn’t watch TV.

Muncie parents Melody, 38, and Adam Greenwood, 36, accused of child neglect, also “nutritionally” neglected the young boy, feeding him only canned vegetables as his seven siblings noshed on fast food and sweets, according to the Star Press.

The Greenwoods were each charged with multiple counts of neglect of a dependent, the outlet reported.

Adam Greenwood and his wife are accused of forcing their son to stand in place for hours.

Police started looking into the couple after the “extremely skinny” child was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie this week for an exam.

Medical professionals reported the suspected abuse to police, and noted scars on the boy’s wrists were caused by zip ties.

Investigators learned from both the boy and the other seven children that he’d been singled out for abuse by his parents.

The boy’s parents fed him only canned goods and no snacks because they had “grounded” him, according to the outlet.

Melody Greenwood is facing three counts of child neglect.

Forced to stand in place for up to 12 hours as his punishment, the boy also told cops his siblings were directed to “beat him up” if he ever spoke or stepped away from the wall.

Indiana Department of Child Services officials are also probing the allegations.

Melody Greenwood, charged with three counts of neglect, was freed after posting $15,000 bond, while Adam Greenwood, charged with two counts, was released on $10,000 bond.

The Post could not reach the Greenwoods for comment Saturday.
