I save money by never running my heat — people say I’m crazy

The cold never bothered him anyway. Brad Alagna, 32, is sharing his extreme frugality hacks with the world, including how he survives winter in New England despite almost never turning on the heat. “This next one you’ll say I’m crazy, but sometimes I wedge my door open with my little recycling box, and I’ll try to let the heat in from the hallway,” he admitted. Alagna, who budgets just $52 a month for his electric bill, ultimately saves 77% of his annual income through his super thrifty lifestyle.
