Exclusive: A man has been arrested after a “really scary” alleged road rage incident, in which a driver threatened another with a metal pole, in Adelaide’s west was captured on film.
Onlookers were left stunned, as the vehicles came to a stop and one man produced a metal pole, smashing a side mirror before the confrontation escalated.
Witnesses said they saw the driver of a silver van attempt to change lanes on Churchill Road in Kilburn about 8.30am, clipping a white van in the process.
Dashcam footage captured the moment a man emerged from the silver van with a metal pole.
“You f—— hit my van,” a man can be heard saying.
“You broke my mirror,” the other said.
The heated confrontation then escalated on the footpath.
One man called police, while the other yelled the police code 504 which refers to a sudden death.
“He tried to veer into me,” the man who was allegedly attacked with the pole can be heard saying.
“Just hurry up and get a patrol here before there’s a 504. Hurry up there’s going to be a 504,” a third man at the scene said.
A witness told 9News the incident was horrifying to watch.
“It is really scary, I can’t even imagine if it’s happening with me, I don’t know what’s going on with people,” witness Jaynika Patel said.
Police quickly arrived and arrested a man at the scene.
