A gunman who fired shots at a home in north-west Sydney overnight remains on the run.

Police say several bullets struck the house at Steeple Place, Marsden Park, while its ocupants were inside at about 10.45pm yesterday.

No injuries were reported.

Detectives are investigating whether a torched vehicle found about 30 minutes later 22km away in the suburb of Girraween, was linked to the shooting.

Police set up crime scenes at both locations and investigations continue today.
