Sophie’s mother, 46-year-old Yingying Xu, was arrested on a nearby street and charged with the girl’s murder.

This morning, Sophie’s school Emmanuel College will host a private service to honour her life, with hundreds expected to attend.

Members of the school community, including students and parents, have spoken in recent days about the impact that left them reeling.
