Hugh Jackman is awaiting confirmation that he has skin cancer.

The Australian actor announced today he’s just had two biopsies for what could be basal cell carcinomas.

“Basal cell, in the world of skin cancers is the least dangerous of them all,” he said in a video posted to Instagram.

“I’ll find out in two or three days.”

Basal cell carcinoma is the most frequently occurring form of all cancers.

The most common form of treatment is surgery, if the cancer isn’t removed in its entirety by the biopsy.

But he urged people to be sun safe.

“Please wear sunscreen, it is just not worth it.

“No matter how much you want a tan. Trust me, trust me, trust me.

“This is all stuff that happened 25 years ago, it’s coming out now.”‘

Jackman has already been treated for skin cancer more than six times.

Jackman is currently preparing to reprise his role of Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3.

It is the tenth movie in which he has played the role.
