Politician Nikki Haley is expected to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this weekend in Maryland.
Haley was the first Republican to challenge former President Donald Trump’s bid for the GOP’S 2024 presidential nomination, which she revealed in February.
This year’s CPAC will be a major deciding moment for the Republican party and the 2024 presidential election alike, as a number of presidential hopefuls including Trump and Haley are expected to attend and appeal to their constituents. So far, early polling numbers show Haley trailing well behind both Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Haley served as former United States ambassador to the United Nations from 2017 to 2018 under former Trump. Prior to that, she was governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017.
Trump is expected to deliver the keynote address on Saturday. Other speakers include Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, Congressman Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump Jr. and Dr. Ben Carson.
