Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift has affected some of his friendships.
The NFL star and his brother, retired player Jason Kelce, brought up Nick Wright during a recent episode of their “New Heights” podcast, toying with the idea of having the sports personality on their show to discuss NFL salary caps.
“F–king love Nick Wright,” Travis, 35, blurted out after Jason, 37, made the suggestion.
Later on his own “What’s Wright?” podcast, Wright watched the clip back and exclaimed, “My guy, Trav! What a delight.”
He went on to reveal, “So here’s the thing — Trav and I have not, like, talk talked since he’s been serious with Taylor Swift, since he’s become, like, a super-duper celebrity.”
Wright, 40, explained he doesn’t “want to bother” Travis “during the year” and noted that “last off-season, he was traveling the world with Taylor.”
Notably, the footballer joined the pop superstar, 35, on several international stops of her Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024.
According to Wright, he and Travis were supposed to meet up at the Chiefs’ 2024 Super Bowl Parade in Kansas City, but a mass shooting broke out, leaving one dead and 22 injured.
“We were going to, I think, get together after the parade or during,” Wright, who’s from Kansas City, told his listeners.
“But there was obviously the tragedy — the shooting — at the parade, so everything got askew.”
Though Wright reiterated that he hasn’t “talked to Trav in a while,” he insisted he “appreciate[s] the shout-out on one of the world’s most popular podcasts.”
He added that “nothing would thrill [him] more” than to make an appearance on “New Heights.”
“I’ll wave my appearance fee just to help them out,” he quipped.
Travis and Swift went public with their romance at a Chiefs home game in September 2023; they’ve been inseparable ever since.
