How Sydney Sweeney Really Feels About Those Glen Powell Cheating Rumors

Those of you who guessed that Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s flirtatious behavior was just a publicity stunt, step up and receive your prize: social media bragging rights. In an interview with Variety, Sweeney admitted that the goal was basically to give fans a small taste of what they can expect to see in “Anyone But You.” Said the actor, “It’s a rom-com. That’s what people want!” While some actors’ careers have been ruined by infidelity, Sweeney said that she and Powell were both completely unbothered by the cheating rumors, in part because they knew that they were nothing more than social media fanfic. “We talk all the time like, ‘That’s really funny,'” she shared.

From the sounds of it, fans of the duo will get to witness them pretending to make eyes at each other a lot more in the coming months. “We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker. We’re excited for the press tour,” Sweeney said.

“Anyone But You” hits theaters on December 15, so it will be interesting to see if Sweeney and Powell’s calculated coquetry helps the rom-com win big at the box office — or if fans are suffering so severely from flirting fatigue by then that they decide to sit it out.
