The total cost of registering a four-cylinder vehicle will rise from $773 to $793 – an increase of almost $20.
For six-cylinder cars, it is up by $26.50.
And for eight-cylinder cars, it is rising a whopping $34.05 a year.
As for fines, even these already hefty penalties are going up.

If you’re caught driving less than 11km over the limit you’ll now be slugged $309 dollars which is up $22.
The penalty for speeding up to 20km over limit is rising by $33.
If you’re caught on your phone, the current fine is $1078 but it will rise to $1161 – an increase of $83.
