According to People, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were married for 13 years at the time of their split. The couple didn’t have a prenuptial agreement in place at the time of their marriage, which meant that Rossdale was legally entitled to be awarded half of all the money and assets the couple collected together. However, Rossdale didn’t attempt to take half of the couple’s fortune. He agreed to divide up their assets unequally in order to allow Stefani to have more. Meanwhile, the pair did seem to agree on sharing equal custody of their three sons.
Stefani reportedly gave Rossdale $25 million of her estimated $75 million net worth at the time, and she allegedly wasn’t happy about having to share her fortune with her ex-husband. “Gwen’s beyond furious that she has to pay him anything,” a source told InTouch Weekly at the time, per Hollywood Life. “The end of their marriage never would have happened if Gavin hadn’t [allegedly] cheated on her, so Gwen feels screwed over.”

Rossdale apparently revealed that he was very supportive of Stefani during their marriage, even taking a bigger role in raising their children so that she could focus on her career. Following the end of their marriage, neither singer hesitated to move on with their lives.
