But despite photos of their outing circulating online, the lovebirds refrained from confirming their romance until Bailey’s 22nd birthday. “Happy Birthday to the beatuifulest, the flyest, the sweetest love you forever @hallebailey,” DDG wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post on March 27 2022. A few months after the rapper’s heartfelt social media declaration, Bailey gave further insight into their relationship beginnings during an August 2022 interview with Essence.

According to the young talent, sparks first started to fly after the “Moonwalking in Calabasas” singer DM’ed her. “I’ve been a fan of his for years. I grew up being on YouTube and would always see the young Black creators and was constantly inspired by them,” she told the publication. Bailey went on to admit that she “forgot” about him over time until he started to release music. “I really gravitated toward this one song. Coincidentally he messaged me — and the rest is history,” she continued. When asked if she was in love, the “Ungodly Hour” singer revealed: “Yes. For sure, I am.” In the months following their social media debut, the romance between Bailey and DDG has only gotten stronger.
