A man’s body has been found near a popular spot on Melbourne’s Yarra River.
Emergency services were called to Yarra Bend in inner-city Fairfield about 2.30pm on Saturday following reports of a body floating in the river.
The man was pulled from the water but couldn’t be revived, despite desperate efforts to revive him through CPR.
An empty kayak was also recovered from the water.

Detectives will investigate whether the man may have suffered a medical episode.
The grim discovery was located near Fairfield Boathouse, a popular boat hire and dining venue.
