A woman has died after she was allegedly seriously injured at an inner Melbourne home overnight.

Police have been told two men fled the home on Stafford Street in Abbotsford before emergency services arrived to help the injured 41-year-old woman after 11.10pm.

She died at the scene, where a teenage boy was also home.

It is believed the men were known to the woman and teenager.

No arrests have been made yet.

Part of Stafford Street has been blocked off as a crime scene.
