A woman has died in a suspected murder at a home in Melbourne. 

Homicide detectives were called to a house on Ormond Rd in Ascot Vale, north-west Melbourne, just after 4pm on Friday.

Victoria Police said a woman was found dead inside the home.

‘The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established and the investigation is in its infancy,’ a spokesperson said on Friday evening.
