An historic 100-year-old country pub has erupted in flames, forcing the emergency evacuation of patrons.

The Baralaba Hotel about 150km south-west of Rockhampton in Queensland was consumed by fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Paramedics assessing 13 patients at the scene, reported the Courier Mail.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman told the publication that 11 people were evacuated from the hotel and that all guests had been accounted for.

‘They searched the rooms and they were all clear,’ she said.

Fire crews took three hours to extinguish the blaze after they were called to the scene shortly after 2am. 

Businesses in the area have been affected by power outages and smoke as a result of the fire.

The Baralaba Foodworks is closed for now and the business has told Facebook followers it will reopen once power has been restored.

These days it is well known as a stop for travellers for pub grub and also hosts a popular ‘street party’.
