Hilarious diving polar bear goes viral for spreading Olympic spirit: ‘Perfect form’

This polar plunger is not quite ready for Paris.

Kova the polar bear may have been snubbed for a spot in the Olympics, but she’s making quite a splash in her hometown in Alaska — and is going viral.

Hilarious TikTok footage from the Alaska Zoo captured the attention-grabbing bear hamming it up before she takes a plunge into the pool — although it’s more like a belly flop, KTUU-TV reported.

“Just the way she lined her feet up together and the way she kind of kept her body still and kind of kept — I guess you could call it a diving form when she went into the water — I think a lot of people really enjoyed the video and it resonated with them with the Olympics coming up,” said zoo grants director Katie Larson.

“We had a lot of comments,” she said. “’10 out of 10 on her dive,’ ‘ Perfect form.’”

Kova, who will soon be 3 years old, has been at the Alaska Zoo since 2022, and didn’t take long to pal up with resident polar bear Cranbeary, who has been at the Anchorage habitat for most of her 22 years.

“There have been a lot of dynamic and playful interactions between the two of them in and around the pool since they were introduced last summer,” Larson said. “It’s been a lot of fun to watch the two of them play that way.”

But for now Kova is stealing the show — and bringing a little Olympic fever to The Last Frontier.
