Kim Kardashian first crossed paths with Damon Thomas during a visit to Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in 1999. The next year, the pair got married. Kardashian was 19 years old, while Thomas was 28. However, her wedding to Thomas was nothing like the lavish affairs she’d later enjoy with Humphries and West. According to Kardashian, she and Thomas eloped while in Las Vegas after he suggested they get married, per Harper’s Bazaar. However, it’s clear Kardashian regrets the rash decision. “I used to be so dependent on the guys I was in a relationship with,” said Kardashian. “I don’t know why, because I wasn’t raised that way. If I looked at myself at 19, I would shake myself and be like, wake up; you are way too smart for this.”

According to The Sun, Kardashian and Thomas’s marriage lasted until 2004 when Kardashian filed for divorce. The couple’s divorce court papers, unearthed by the Daily Mail, allege that Thomas was abusive to Kardashian during their relationship. “Thomas would punch her in the face, slam her against walls and throw her across the room, leaving her bruised and battered,” read the documents (via Mirror UK). The same report alleges that Damon also showed inappropriate photos of one of Kardashian’s unnamed sisters to their late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.
