The Goop founder’s birthday tribute to Moses comes right after she won her infamous ski crash trial against retired doctor Terry Sanderson. Sanderson had sued Paltrow for $300,000 on the claim that she’d caused a collision in their 2016 ski incident.

The ski trip incident occurred while Paltrow, her husband Brad Falchuk, and her kids, were vacationing at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City. It reportedly cost Sanderson multiple broken ribs, a traumatic brain injury, and a “loss of his enjoyment of life.” The doctor also claimed that after the accident, Paltrow just “got up, turned and skied away.”

The “Mortdecai” star countersued him for $1 and her attorney’s fees, which the court granted. Paltrow reportedly whispered, “I wish you well” to Sanderson as she left the courtroom. He replied, “Thank you, dear.”

During the court proceedings, Apple and Moses were expected to testify on behalf of their mother, as they were present for the accident. Instead, the children submitted depositions, which were read out to the jury and courtroom.

In Moses’s statement, he wrote that he saw Sanderson ski right into his mom, after which she yelled at the guy. He wrote, per Page Six, “She was saying something along the lines of, ‘What the F-word? You just ran into me.’” In Apple’s statement, she wrote that she was a bit far from the accident, but Paltrow later told her that “this a–hole (Sanderson) ran into me. He ran right into my back.”

After the jury announced the decision in her favor, Paltrow thanked them for their “thoughtfulness.” In a blank Instagram Story post, she wrote, “I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.”

The entire trial has since gone viral on social media, with fans taking delight in how it all played out.
