PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A football player was killed and four others were injured after two gunmen ambushed the group outside Roxborough High School in Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Fairway Terrace just as a football scrimmage ended between three schools: Roxborough High School, Northeast High School and Boys Latin Charter School.

Investigators say the five players were walking off the field when two gunmen ambushed them from a Ford Explorer.

Police say a 14-year-old male was shot and later died from his injuries.

A 14-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were also shot and rushed to an area hospital in stable condition.

A fifth player suffered a graze wound, according to police.

It’s still unclear if the football players attended Roxborough High School.

No arrests have been made.
