Police have charged a man after they found a loaded gun hidden in a couch in Perth during raids targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Five people were arrested in the operation at Como, Kinross, Greenmount, Scarborough and Osborne Park properties.

During a search of the Kinross home last Saturday evening, a Hells Angels nominee was arrested in the driveway.

Officers later found a loaded gun and several rounds of ammunition inside a couch at the property.

Various quantities of cocaine, methylamphetamine, steroids and prescription drugs were also discovered.

A man aged 46 was charged with drug and firearm offences.

He is due to appear in court today.

Three motorcycles were also seized following the police operation.
