A heartbroken sister is pleading for the return of her brother’s ashes after they were stolen from her home in Melbourne’s south-east.
Jewellery, ornaments and medication were also taken when Celia Franze’s house on Camp Street in Chelsea was broken into between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Friday.
CCTV released by police shows a shirtless man and tattooed woman open the front gate of her property and ransack her home while she was away.
Franze said a silver urn containing ashes were among the stolen items.
“I am worried these people are out there and could do this to somebody else,” she said.

“It’s absolutely sickening to think that somebody has crossed this moral line, to stoop so low as to take an irreplaceable part of my life.”
Police investigating the burglary have taken fingerprints from the scene and are examining the CCTV footage.
Franze urged the thieves to come forward and hand in the urn.
“If you could please look deep into your soul and return these ashes,” she said.
“It would be a real sign of your generosity.”
