Two men have been left fighting for their lives and a woman has been rushed to hospital after they were gunned down in their cars.

The trio were sitting in two parked cars before they were shot on Mayvic Street at Greenacre, south-west Sydney, at 2.15am on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the scene with a 25-year-old man found injured in one car and a 22-year-old man and 19-year-old woman in the other.

Both men are in a critical condition and the woman is in a stable condition as they continue to be treated at hospital.

Residents discovered a vehicle had been set alight nearby on Amy Street at Regents Park five minutes after the shooting.

Detectives have set up a crime scene and launched an investigation.
