Police were talking to another driver on the Princes Highway in Noble Park at 7.30pm when a woman stopped to tell them a driver had crashed into her car and she was concerned the woman shouldn’t be driving.
After that, a two-car crash happened nearby involving the very same car.
A breath test of the driver returned an alleged reading of 0.249.
The Noble Park woman told police she was driving to McDonalds to pick up a sundae for her grandson.
Her licence was suspended for 12 months, and she will be charged on summons with drink driving and traffic offences.
Her Holden Astra was also impounded for 30 days at a cost of $950.
The woman was taken to hospital for observation, Victoria Police, said.
