The Latest Democrat Scheme to Thwart Hegseth’s Nomination Just Got Nuked

I like this – I like this a LOT.

NO MORE MALARKEY

Pete Hegseth has done everything required of him, done it with aplomb and dignity.

Not a soul was fooled nor mollified into caving ‘Oh, well, we got one‘ by the polite ‘unanimous vote for Marco’ in the tailpipe trick.

Some of John Thune’s threats must be beginning to work because the Senate got over their Ratcliffe procedural hissy fits…

…Senate Democrats slowed Ratcliffe’s confirmation after his nomination advanced out of committee earlier this week, forcing procedural maneuvers to extend consideration of his nomination in recent days.

…”But Democrats unnecessarily delayed this important vote,” Barrasso continued. “John Ratcliffe is undeniably qualified for the job, he’s going to lead the CIA without bias, and with the safety of the American people being his priority.”

On Tuesday, Sen. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat, objected to a time agreement that would have allowed the Senate to quickly vote on Ratcliffe’s nomination, expressing “serious concerns” about Ratcliffe’s ability to distance himself from Mr. Trump’s political interests and urging that it wasn’t too much to ask for senators to have time to debate the nomination on the floor.

…just a bit ago.

We have a new CIA Director at last.

That’s a whole *checks notes* two confirmations.

Hegseth had been humming along despite a rocky introductory period before senators actually had their face-to-face sessions with him. He then blew doubters away when he had his bravura performance during the hearings.

The Democrats, and, more importantly, I believe the military-industrial-DEI complex, panicked. The forces arrayed against Hegseth had counted on the reputed macho wildman to lose his cool at some point. Their orchestrated attack on all fronts at the hearing included every manner of modern, asymmetrical weaponry, from a phalanx of shrieking AWFLs…

…to frightening, clownish visages of scuzzy, broken politicians slandering his family, faux concern on their Joker-like faces.

Hegseth’s pleasant demeanor never broke once.

Their last-ditch effort to gin up a controversy was straight out of their tattered playbook.

Breathlessly, their media stooges reported that Hegseth’s ‘ex-sister-in-law’ had signed a sworn affidavit asserting Hegseth had ‘physically abused’ his ex-wife Samantha, causing her to (the always favored) ‘fear for her life.’

HOLD THE FRICKIN’ PRESSES WE GOT THIS GUY NOW

The effort to burn Hegseth to the ground ran up against two problems almost instantaneously.

First was a pissed-off ex-wife, who said THIS NEVER HAPPENED and that she was talking to her lawyer.

It also didn’t help the story left an initial impression it was the ex-wife’s sister. It turns out to have been Hegseth’s brother’s ex-wife.

Oh. HELLO. Like, six degrees of separation there, yo.

The second was the ‘reporter’s’ track record. Ms Kube, it turns out, is already in trouble for having a problem with ‘the truth.’

But it was enough of a ploy to give the usual RINO turncoats cover to hold their noses in disgust and declare they’d have nothing to do with the toxically male Hegseth.

The Senate held the procedural vote just a bit ago, and Hegseth came through.

Politico is apoplectic.

Pete Hegseth came one step closer to leading the Pentagon on Thursday despite new allegations against him and last-minute Republican defections.

The Senate voted 51-49 to cut off debate on Hegseth’s nomination, setting up a final vote that could come as late as this weekend.

All Democrats opposed moving forward with his confirmation. Two Republicans, Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine also came out in opposition to Hegseth.

Murkowski cited “significant concerns” with the former Fox News host, including a lack of experience, allegations of personal misconduct and comments opposing women in combat roles. Collins, who previously expressed concerns about the allegations against him, said Hegseth doesn’t “have the experience and perspective” for the job.

Murkowski is in CYA mode. She’s hopeless.

Senator Bill Hagerty has had it.

And Senator Mullin says they have the votes to get ‘er done.

Even if it takes J.D. breaking a tie, Republicans are doing this.

I like it.

This is how we were supposed to play the game all along.

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

Even if it’s the miserable POSs in your own party.

About damn time.
