Gigi Hadid was arrested and charged with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia after she flew to the Cayman Islands from the U.S. last week.
The supermodel, 28 – who was traveling with pal Leah McCarthy – arrived in a private jet at Owen Roberts International Airport July 10 and went through customs with her luggage – with Customs & Border Control agents finding a ‘small amount of weed and smoking utensils.’
The marijuana was determined to be for ‘personal use only’ – but Hadid and McCarthy were arrested on charges of importation of marijuana and importation of utensils to smoke the cannabis.

The star was processed at the Royal Cayman Islands Detention Center – where she was arranged for bail and later released, pending prosecution, reports local outlet Cayman Marl Road.
Hadid and McCarthy appeared in Summary Court on July 12 and pleaded guilty. They were both fined $1,000 and avoided conviction on their records.
