Brisbane’s first-ever shotgun wedding venue has opened, offering couples all the fun of a Las Vegas wedding without the price tag.

The micro wedding venue called Wham Bam Thank You Sam has opened in Windsor, offering a $1900 package including a venue for up to 12 guests, a celebrant and a confetti canon.

The chapel’s theme changes every few months, with the current one being Vegas-inspired.

“We’ve taken the best parts that we think are popular about Vegas and made our own little version of it,” celebrant Sam Capewell said

“We’ll save you the 14-hour flight, you can just come here and enjoy yourself.”

A legal marriage needs four weeks’ notice, so couples looking for the authentic shotgun wedding experience can have an on-the-spot commitment ceremony.

They can also book the space in advance for a legally binding wedding ceremony.

“If you’re a morning person, come on in, celebrate, go have a fabulous breakfast,” creative lead Amey Rosenthal said.

“If you want (to get married) in the middle of the day, there’s great restaurants to go and have a celebratory lunch post.”

The average wedding costs Aussies anywhere between $36,000 to $51,000, according to Canstar.
