Product Safety Australia said the recall applied to garage remotes with “Remote King” or “Battery World” branding.

The remotes have been found to have inadequately secure button batteries, which pose a danger to young children.

If a child swallows one, they risk choking internal burns, serious injuries and even death.

“Severe or fatal injuries can happen in two hours or less,” Product Safety wrote.

Customers are urged to stop using the product immediately and take it to any Battery World store for a full refund or a replacement remote.
