French-American private school Ecole moving to new Flatiron Disctrict home

French-American private school Ecole is moving and growing. It signed a long-term lease for 46,000 square feet at Williams Equities’ 120 E. 23rd St., a 1913-vintage, 250,000 square-foot commercial building.

Ecole will occupy the entire second and third floors and part of the ground floor as part of a “building within a building.” The lease begins in October of 2025, in time for the new semester. Colliers’ Michael Berger represented the school while Robert Getreu, a Williams principal, acted for the landlord.

“The École had a strong desire to develop a state-of-the-art academic facility and accommodate its growing student population within this dynamic neighborhood,” Berger said.

Asking rents in the building are in the high $60s per square foot.

The kindergarten through eighth grade school is currently housed at 111 E. 22nd St.

Lee & Associates’ Peter Braus, who repped the landlord, said, “We are proud to help L’Agence expand on Madison Avenue and continue its impressive future growth.” Dallimore & Co.’s Simon Dallimore repped the tenant.
